2022 KTM 450 SX-F Horsepower and Torque – Dirt Rider

How much power does KTM’s standard-model 450 motocross bike produce for MY22?
MY22 marks the end of the current generation of KTM’s motocross and cross-country models. We know this because the 2022 450 SX-F Factory Edition is all new, which is an indicator of what to expect on the following year’s SX, SX-F, XC, and XC-F models in terms of updates (minus the bling parts). This generation (20192022) of KTM’s highest-displacement motocrosser, the 450 SX-F has fared well in Dirt Rider’s 450 Motocross Shootout the past few years, and one of the reasons is its SOHC engine with a 12.75:1 compression ratio.
In addition to offering the longest power delivery on the track, the 450 SX-F also spins the most peak horsepower and torque in the class with 55.0 hp at 9,400 rpm and 34.3 pound-feet of torque at 7,500 rpm, as measured on our in-house Dynojet 250i rear-wheel dynamometer. Will the 2023 KTM 450 SX-F match or surpass those figures? We’ll have to wait and see, but an upcoming dyno test of the ‘22 450 SX-F Factory Edition will give us an idea. Stay tuned!
